Art of Impact

Art embodies impact and purpose, and has a long history of building community. With this understanding, Impact Fund has partnered with local artists to unlock a world of intentional possibilities to fund meaningful Impact work in Chicago. In addition to being beautiful and original, these creative pieces will help support Chicago communities with 60% of the proceeds going to Impact Fund, a 501(c)3, and 40% going to the artist.

Art Series 1 — “Love & Happiness”

Created by Lauren Asta, a traveling muralist and artist who specializes in illustration, oddity art, doodle art, street art and murals. Her goal is to convey information, light or heavy with content, in an attractive & animated way. Creating public artwork allows her to visually stimulate an audience and inspire them with her cast of characters doing what they do best…being humorous about the human experience. Her murals are all hand painted, working completely free hand, without any aid of a sketch, projector or traced outline.

Using acrylic paint as the medium, Lauren centered these two pieces around the concepts of connection, love and happiness.

Art Series 2 — "Soldier and The Rain"

Created by Bianca Pastel, who has known she wanted to pursue a career as an artist since the age of 5. Her biggest influences are 90's movies/cartoons, Art Deco, photography and music. She has an educational background in art and design from Columbia College, and her experience in art ranges from doing album covers and children’s' book illustration, to animation and graphic design. Her goal is not only to have fun, but also to remind people of childhood memories and provide her audience a feeling of nostalgia.

Using acrylic paint as the medium, Bianca centered these two pieces around her character Binky and the notion of imperfection being perfection while enjoying the journey of defining and loving yourself.

Art Series 3 — “Tweeting”

Caesar Perez is an urban contemporary artist working in sculptural fabrication, large-scale aerosol murals, and all manner of design. Born and raised in working class Chicago, Prz’s 20 year creative career has spanned America all the way to Europe. Across their multifaceted media, Prz’s artworks tell stories in the folklorico tradition instilled by his Latino-Caribbean upbringing.

Using acrylic paint for “Tweeting,” Caesar’s inspiration came from the concept of community and love. His digital companion piece “Love Birds” accentuates the notion of unity and warmth.

Art Series 4 — “Swept Away”

Alyse Gamson is a digital artist who combines illustration, photography, 3d modeling, and animation to create scenes that come to life and explore themes of mindfulness, feminine strength, and surrealism. After earning her undergraduate and master's degrees in accounting and spending several years working in the corporate world, Alyse Gamson had a transformative experience living in San Francisco and decided to pursue a career in the arts. She attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco with a focus on fashion design and illustration and spent the next several years exploring the world of physical making.

The idea for “Swept Away” expands the surreal landscape into an intricately woven view with colorful swirls and abstract forms to symbolize love and connection. Her companion piece “Hope” brings thoughts to mind of a better future.

These creative pieces will help support Chicago communities with 60% of the proceeds going to Impact Fund, a 501(c)3, and 40% going to the artist.
